Salary After Tax Calculator
This is a standardized single-salaried-worker estimate. It does not model every credit, benefit, pension, student loan, bonus, stock compensation or special tax treatment.

Global Salary Comparison
Do not compare the same number in four currencies. Enter one local salary, choose its base country, and Your Salary Global solves a different target-country gross salary for the same purchasing-power-adjusted take-home income.
PPP mode uses World Bank 2025 PA.NUS.PRVT.PP private-consumption PPP factors for all four markets using the same 2025 data year. It is a national purchasing-power comparison, not a city-level rent or lifestyle model. FX mode uses 2025 annual-average official exchange rates. Both are deliberately labeled separately.
💰 Purchasing-Power Equivalent
First calculates local net salary. It then converts that net income into an international purchasing-power unit and solves for the gross salary required in each target market.
💱 Currency Equivalent
A pure FX conversion. Useful for transfers and nominal comparisons, but it is not an equivalent salary or cost-of-living measure.
🧾 Local After-Tax
Shows what the entered gross salary would produce under each local tax engine. The gross number is never silently copied into another currency.
How Your Salary Global Compares Salaries
1. Local Salary → Local Tax → Local Net
Every country has its own tax rules. India uses the 2026–27 new-regime slabs and Section 87A Rebate; the UK applies the Personal Allowance and Income Tax bands plus employee National Insurance; the USA applies 2026 federal income tax plus Social Security and Medicare in this MVP; Canada applies federal tax plus the selected provincial tax and CPP/EI.
2. Currency Equivalent
For FX comparison, the calculation is simply a currency conversion using the published exchange-rate dataset. It answers “what is this amount worth at the exchange rate?” It does not answer “what salary gives the same lifestyle?”
3. Purchasing-Power Equivalent
For PPP mode, Your Salary Global calculates the base country's net income in international dollars using the private-consumption PPP factor. The same real purchasing-power amount is then converted into each target country's local currency using its PPP factor. Finally, the target tax engine is inverted to find the gross salary needed to produce that target net income.
Why PPP Is Separate From FX
OECD defines PPPs as currency conversions that equalize purchasing power by removing differences in price levels. That is why PPP is appropriate for a national real-income comparison, while market exchange rates are appropriate for nominal currency conversion.
What PPP Does Not Do
National PPP cannot tell you the exact rent, commute, healthcare, childcare or lifestyle cost in Bengaluru versus London or Toronto. City-level comparison should be a separate Cost of Living tool using city-specific data.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't ₹15 lakh become £15 lakh in the comparison?
Because those are different currencies and have different price levels. The comparison first calculates Indian take-home pay, then determines the target country's local amount using either FX or PPP, depending on the selected comparison.
Is a PPP-equivalent salary the same as a market salary?
No. PPP answers a purchasing-power question. A market salary answers what employers pay for a particular occupation, experience level and location. Your Salary Global should keep those metrics separate.
How is U.S. state tax handled?
Federal tax and FICA are calculated for a single filer. California uses its 2026 state income-tax schedule and 1.3% SDI; Texas, Florida and Washington are treated as having no general individual wage income tax. Local taxes and special credits are not modeled.
Why does Canada ask for a province?
Canadian provincial tax applies in addition to federal tax. Your Salary Global supports Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia as separate 2026 provincial systems. The annual calculator uses CRA's 2026 annual BC rate of 5.60% and the annual BC tax-reduction rules; it does not mix July payroll-withholding proration into an annual tax-return estimate.
